Since 2016, Cherith Projects has been transforming lives in Diepsloot – building sustainable Eco Brick structures, planting thriving vegetable gardens and empowering communities to grow with dignity.​

Registered as a Non-Profit in 2021, we proudly partner with the Earthly Touch Foundation to create lasting impact – ​one Eco brick, one garden, one life at a time.

Making a Difference in Diepsloot ​

Diepsloot is an informal settlement located north of Johannesburg in South Africa, with an estimated population of between 400,000 and 500,000 residents.

It comprises a mix of South Africans together with a large population of economic migrants from neighbouring countries, such as Zimbabweans and Malawians. The unemployment rate is more than 70% and most live below the poverty line.

Operating in Diepsloot since 2016, Cherith projects have formed strong supportive relationships with the Pastors of various churches in the area. It has endeavoured to meet the basic needs of the churches, church members and the surrounding communities by undertaking community based projects, to raise the quality of life for these communities.​
